WALID L. PETIRI, AAMS
Walid L. Petiri, AAMS® is the Owner and Chief Strategist of Financial Management Strategies, LLC (FMS), a Registered Investment Advisor founded in 2000. He brings three decades of experience spanning tax, insurance, brokerage, personal banking, and financial planning, as well as corporate credit, business planning, and consumer lending. In 2017, Walid launched FMS Institutional Services, where he leads consulting engagements in investment policy development (IPS), strategic asset allocation, manager search and due diligence, manager selection, and the design and implementation of diverse and emerging manager programs.
Walid earned dual degrees in business management and finance from Montclair State University and holds the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®) designation from the College for Financial Planning. He completed the education requirement for the CIMA® certification at the Yale School of Management. He has appeared as a commentator on WEAA 88.9 FM and WMAR-TV 2, and he has been quoted or published by CNBC, InvestmentNews, Bankrate, Morningstar, TheStreet, USA Today, and The Wall Street Journal. He also authors the monthly client newsletter Foresight.
Civically, Walid serves as Board Chair of the National Center on Institutions and Alternatives (NCIA). He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, chaired the Museum’s Investment Committee, and served as Chair of the Finance Committee of Associated Black Charities. He is a member of Bethel AME Church and a devoted father.
